A Few Truths

Truth: Macaroni and cheese is my all time favorite food.
Truth: Some days I don’t drink nearly enough water.
Truth: I don’t work out every day.
Truth: I’m a mom and some days the only way I get through the morning is by doubling my coffee intake.
Also truth: I love fitness. I love whole foods. I strive to be the best version of myself but some days I fall short and there’s a reason for that: I’m only human! I set goals for myself and have good intentions but there are days when I go backward a few steps and I’ve learned that that’s ok.
About a year ago I started working out full time and for the first time in my life I felt confident in my abilities. I was at a gym that I loved with coaches who made me feel comfortable even on days where my self esteem, or lack there of, was getting the best of me. They let me know every person progresses differently than the next and no matter what, each day I was there was a step in the right direction. I’d go for a few weeks and eat healthy, then miss a week and my diet took a back seat in my daily life. I’d get down on myself and embarrassed that I’d yet again went back on my word and didn’t follow through. This went on for several months with the back and forth of "health and fitness extraordinaire" to the girl who might have enough energy to cook a somewhat healthy dinner that night and just might go for a walk around the block.
You’re probably wondering why someone promoting their coaching business would talk to you about all the downfalls of their own health and fitness journey. One simple reason: I want you to know that I am no different than you. I struggle to take my own advice and some days I look in the mirror and wonder how I’m going to get back on track. I really just want people to know that you can come to me not only as a coach but as a friend and confidant who will support you through every aspect of this crazy ride and make sure you know you’re not alone. I come with no judgement whatsoever and will pick you up when you feel like you can’t take one more step. Your time with me won’t just be spent on how much weight you feel like you HAVE to lose. We will talk about life, stress, happiness, and whatever else you feel like bringing to the table during our sessions. One thing you can count on though…you have no reason to feel intimidated or scared to start working on yourself or asking for help from someone like me. Because we’re in this together. I am a work in progress and always will be. I think everyone is.
What I’ve learned about health and wellness is that we’re all at different points in our lives and we’re all capable of different things. Something that works for me, won’t work for you. And vice versa. We can’t all eat the same foods and do the same workouts and have the same exact result. Our bodies don’t work that way.
I hope that no matter where you’re at in life you take the time to make yourself a priority. I hope you know that if you don’t follow through with your meal plan or if you miss a few days of working out, you’re not failing…you’re just doing what you’re capable of at that time and that’s OK! We’re all just doing the best we can at any particular moment. But when you can do better, do better and push yourself as hard as you can!
Whew! First blog EVER is complete. It’s posted later than I had planned because I wrote and deleted it about 500 times. I hope the farther along I get in my business the more comfortable I get with the whole idea of writing blogs.
Thanks for reading and letting me share a little bit of my thoughts with you!
Goodnight
